Club Calendar Information

 

We meet monthly on the first Tuesday, except for July, for a Business meeting. New members are welcome to attend any month except June and December which are for members only.

 

We have Social get-togethers on the third Sunday of January, February, March, April, October, and November. These get-togethers have activities, music or dancing, dinner and other general fun and games of a Bavarian nature. All members and their families are invited and occasionally these events are open to non-members.

 

Our Adult dance group practices on the fourth Tuesday of the month with additional practices as needed. Practice starts at 8:00 PM. Most of our practices are devoted to learning new dances, polishing our current repertoire or preparing for upcoming performances.

 

Anyone who is 18 years or older, is welcome to come and give it a try. Please call (Annie Winter at  847-577-9782) and let us know you’d like to attend a practice.

 

Our Kinder Gruppe is for children 5 to 17 years of age. They practice on Sundays prior to our social get-togethers once per month, from 1:30 until 3:00 PM. We also practice on Friday evenings once per month by arrangement (hall availability). They perform at various times though out the year.    Call John Zimo, at  773-282-4711 for more information.

 

The Club hosts an annual Summer Picnic, our Christmas Party with Membership Awards Presentation, and we host an Annual Anniversary Spring Dance. We attend as a group, other events held in the German Community in and around the Chicago Metro area, including the Steuben Day Parade and the German-American Commemoration Day. We also attend events held by other Schuhplattler Vereine (Dance Clubs) in and around the Midwest.
